BeadforLife started when some friends visiting Uganda noticed a woman making beads near her home. They bought some of the beads not realizing this would soon turn into a way they could help Ugandan women and men. The “beaders” as they are called on the BeadforLife website make the jewelry; earrings, necklaces, bracelets. The jewelry is then sold on-line or through a BeadParty at a home, church, or community event. A portion of the sales goes back to the beaders. The remainder of the money from sales goes into community development, health programs, housing, and education in Uganda. A very small sum goes to the corporate end of things.
