I came into the studio this morning and started responding to a multitude of potential clients around the world about “their special day” as I do every day. About half way through, I realized that the majority of clients who are inquiring about wedding photography, don’t fully understand what this business is all about. I decided to take a few minutes and tell the world what this industry does as a whole AND how and why we at On the edge Weddings are different.
We have on many occasions reviewed the work of other photographers around the country. And we admit that there are a few very good ones, no doubt. Most of what we find however, are far from what they boast to their clients either in writing, verbally or on their website. Now for those couples who are on such a serious budget that they cannot afford quality photographs . . . we highly recommend NOT GETTING MARRIED YET! I know this appears harsh but it you think about this, it totally makes sense.
The photographs are the only things that (short of fire or theft), last forever. They are sometimes the only things that last “beyond” the marriage. Thats a horrible thing to think about, but in todays world of 50% divorce rate, WHY WOULD ANYONE SCRIMP ON THE PHOTOGRAPHS THAT DEPICT THE ESSENCE OF THE HAPPIEST TIMES FOR THE COUPLE??? Those who are smart and “get” what we are talking about here, have a wonderful marriage, a healthy relationship and have budgeted for the best photographs that are not just “pictures of the wedding”, but photographs that have ATTENTION TO DETAIL like no other.
Why would anyone not want “no time limits?” Why would anyone not want “2 or more photographers?” And why would anyone want to wait months to see their photographs? We have ours up in 72 hours, sometimes less. The bottom line here is this. ALL of our photographers are not only heavily skilled and creative each in their own right, but each of them would want their own wedding shot the way WE do it every time.
Its no wonder that our company has bookings into 2011 as we do. It is simply the best.
“Ok . . . I am off my soapbox now”
